Bul. Lilii Bai He 3-10g Moistens and nourishes the Lungs and clears Heat.
 With Shu Di Huang, for palpitations, irritability, insomnia, and dark, scanty urine due to lingering Heat.
With Sheng Di Huang and Shu Di Huang, nourishes and moistens the Lungs and Kidneys.
With Sheng Di Huang, Shu Di Huang and Xuan Shen, for cough with Blood-streaked sputum, hot palms and soles and nightsweats from Lung and Kidney Yin Deficiencies.
With Mai Men Dong, Xuan Shen and Chuan Bei Mu, for chronic dry cough and sore throat due to Lung Yin Deficiency.
Rx. Rehmanniae Sheng Di Huang 4-12g Tonifies the Kidneys, nourishes Yin, generates fluids, increases saliva, cools the Blood and stops bleeding.
With Xuan Shen, for dry throat, irritability, a red tongue and a thready, rapid pulse due to Yin Deficiency with Fire Flaring.
With Xuan Shen and Mai Men Dong, for dry throat, irritability, a red tongue, and a fast thready pulse due to Devastated Yin with Blazing Fire, excessive thirst, irritability, and a scarlet tongue due to Ying Stage Heat, swelling of the throat and lymph nodes and constipation due to Excess Heat with Yin Deficiency.
With Bai Shao, for Blood Deficiency Heat.
Rx. Rehmanniae Preparata Shu Di Huang 5-18g Tonifies Liver and Kidney Yin.
With Sheng Di Huang, treats Yin Deficiency with Fire Flaring.
Rx. Ophiopogonis Mai Men Dong 3-10g Moistens the Lungs, stops cough and nourishes Yin especially of the Upper Jiao.
With Xuan Shen, nourishes Yin and clears Heat.
With Xuan Shen, Jie Geng and Gan Cao, for itchy, dry throat, thirst and a nonproductive cough due to Lung Yin Deficiency.
With Sheng Di Huang, for hematemesis or epistaxis due to Yin Deficiency with Excess Heat.
Rx. Scrophulariae Xuan Shen 2.4-9g Clears Heat, cools the Blood and nourishes Yin.
With Bai He, for Yin Deficiency with Lung Dryness and a dry cough.
With Jie Geng and Gan Cao, for a sore throat with Dryness and pain.
Bul. Fritillariae Cirrhosae Chuan Bei Mu 3-9g Moistens the Lungs, transforms Phlegm, stops cough and clears Heat.
With Xuan Shen, clears Heat.
Rx. Platycodi Jie Geng 2-6g Moves Lung Qi, expels Phlegm and stops cough especially with Chuan Bei Mu.
With Gan Cao, disseminates Lung Qi, expels Phlegm, resolves toxicity, and expels pus for productive cough with hoarseness, pain and swelling of the throat due to Wind-Heat.
Rx. Angelicae Sinensis Dang Gui 3-9g Nourishes and invigorates the Blood.
With Bai Shao, nourishes Yin Blood and protects the Lungs against Liver attack.
With Shu Di Huang, for Heat symptoms due to Yin Deficiency and Devastated Blood.
Rx. Paeoniae Alba Bai Shao 3-9g Nourishes Blood and astringes Yin.
With Dang Gui, Shu Di Huang and Mai Men Dong, for tinnitus, dizziness, blurred vision, numbness of the extremities, and muscle spasms due to Liver Yin Deficiency.
Rx. Glycyrrhizae Gan Cao 1-6g Moistens the Lungs, clears Heat, stops cough and moderates and harmonizes the harsh properties of other herbs.
With Jie Geng, benefits the throat.
