Earth-Fried Rz. Atractylodis Macrocephalae Tu Chao Bai Zhu 20-30g Tonifies the Spleen, augments Qi, dries Dampness, promotes water metabolism and calms the fetus.
With Che Qian Zi, for diarrhea due to Dampness.
With Cang Zhu, for vaginal discharge.
with Shan Yao, Che Qian zi and Can Zhu, for clear, watery vaginal discharge due to Spleen and Stomach Deficiencies with Dampness.
Dry-Fried Rz. Dioscoreae Chao Shan Yao 20-30g Tonifies the Spleen, nourishes Stomach Yin, stops diarrhea, tonifies Kidney Yin and astringes Jing.
With Chai Hu and Bai Shao, for vaginal discharge due to Spleen Deficiency and Liver Qi Stagnation.
With Ren Shen and Bai Zhu, for Decreased appetite and lack of energy due to Spleen Deficiency.
With Bai Zhu, Cang Zhu, Bai Shao and Chai Hu, for Leukorrhea due to Spleen Qi Deficiency with Liver Qi Stagnation.
Rx. Ginseng Ren Shen 6-9g Powerfully tonifies Qi.
With Bai Zhu, tonifies the transformation and transportation functions of the Spleen.
(Rx. Codonopsis) (Dang Shen) (15g) (May substitute for Ren Shen.)
Prepared Rz. Atractylodis Zhi Cang Zhu 6-9g Strongly dries Dampness, tonifies the Spleen and clears Dampness from the Lower Jiao.
Per. Citri Reticulatae Chen Pi 1.5-3g Regulates Qi, adjusts the Middle, relieves the diaphragm, dries Dampness, transforms Phlegm and helps prevent Stagnation from tonic herbs.
With Bai Zhu, for anorexia and other symptoms of Damp-Obstruction due to Spleen Deficiency.
Wine-Fried Sm. Plantaginis Jiu Chao Che Qian Zi 6-9g Promotes urination, clears Damp-Heat and clears Liver Heat.
With Cang Zhu, for Damp-Heat vaginal discharge with Spleen Deficiency.
Wine-Fried Rx. Paeoniae Alba Jiu Chao Bai Shao 12-15g Nourishes the Blood, regulates menstruation, calms Liver Yang and softens the Liver.
With Gan Cao, for abdominal pain due to disharmony between the Liver and Stomach.
With Chai Hu, for flank pain due to Liver Qi Stagnation.
Rx. Bupleuri Chai Hu 1.8-3g Spreads Liver Qi, relieves Stagnation and raises Yang Qi.
With Bai Shao, for Liver Blood Deficiency with Liver Qi Stagnation and vertigo, dizziness, thoracic and costal pain, and menstrual irregularity due to Liver Qi Stagnation.
With Gan Cao, for hepatitis and upper right quadrant pain.
Charred Sp. Schizonepetae Jing Jie Sui Tan 1.5-3g Stops bleeding.
Rx. Glycyrrhizae Gan Cao 2-3g Tonifies the Spleen, augments Qi and moderates and harmonizes the harsh properties of other herbs.
With Bai Shao, moderates spasms and alleviates pain, for painful spasms of the leg or abdomen.

CONTRAINDICATIONS
  • Contraindicated for those with yellow, bloody, thick, sticky or foul smelling discharge due to Liver Stagnation transforming into Heat or Damp-Heat.
