  • 3 cun proximal to SJ-4 Yangchi, in the depression between the radium and the ulna, on the radial side of the extensor digitorus communis muscle.
    Note: To locate this point, divide the distance between SJ-4 Yangchi and the lateral epicondyle into half and then halve then half again.
    The point is located between the radius and the extensor digitorus communis muscle, close to the border of the radius.
  • 3 cum proximal to the dorsal crease of the wrist, on the line connecting SJ-4 Yangchi and the tip of the olecranon, between the radius and the ulna, on the radial side of m. extensor digitorum.
  • 3 cun above the transverse crease on the dorsal side of the wrist, 1 cun above SJ-5 Waiguan.
  • On the dorsal surface of the forearm, 3 cun above the transverse crease of the wrist, between the radius and the ulna.
  • Slightly oblique insertion towards the ulnar side or oblique proximal or distal insertion towards the elbow or wrist respectively, 0.5 to 1.5 cun.
  • Joined by through needling to PC-5 Jianshi.
    Caution: movement of the patient's arm or hand after needling can result in a bent needle.
  • Puncture perpendicularly 0.8 to 1.2 cun.
  • Moxibustion is applicable.
  • Straight insertion 1 to 1.5 cun. Sensation: local distention and soreness, possibly reaching the elbow, and sometimes an electric, numb sensation extending to the fingertips.
