  • At the midpoint of the transverse crease of the front of the ankle, between the tendons of the extensor digitorum longus and hallucis longus muscles, approximately at the tip of the lateral malleolus.
  • On the ankle, level with the prominence of the lateral malleolus, in the depression between the tendons of the extensor hallucis longus and extensor digitorum longus.
  • At the midpoint of the transverse crease of the front of the ankle, between the two tendons and level with the lateral malleolus.
  • Perpendicular insertion 0.5 cun.
  • Oblique insertion beneath the tendons to join with SP-5 Shangqiu medially or GB-40 Qiuxu laterally.
  • Caution: the anterior tibial vessels and nerve lie deep to this point.
  • Puncture perpendicularly 0.5 to 0.7 cun.
  • Moxibustion is applicable.
