  11. Gou Qi Zi, Sm. Cuscutae Tu Si Zi and Sm. Astragali Complanati Sha Yuan Zi all tonify the Kidney Yin and Yang and are often used together. Gou Qi Zi better nourishes Kidney and Lung Yin, slightly tonifies Kidney Yang and tonifies Liver Blood to improve vision. Tu Si Zi and Sha Yuan Zi both tend toward the Yang and astringe Jing.
  12. Both Gou Qi Zi and Fr. Broussonetiae Chu Shi Zi are sweet, moistening, enrich and tonify Liver and Kidney Yin and Blood and are used for achy, weak lower back and legs, dizziness, Light-headedness and visual disturbances. Gou Qi Zi is neutral and can tonify Jing and treat coughs by moistening the Lungs. Chu Shi Zi is cold and clears Heat, especially in the Liver channel affecting the eyes. it also promotes urination.
  13. Gou Qi Zi, Fr. Ligustri Lucidi Niu Zhen Zi and Fr. Mori Sang Shen all tonify the Liver and Kidney Yin. Gou Qi Zi also assists Kidney Yang and Sang Shen tonifies the Blood. Nu Zhen Zi tonifies the Yin and cools Heat from Yin Deficiency.
  14. Dry-fried Lycium Fruit Chao Gou Qi Zi has a warm nature which makes it easier to digest.
  15. Salt-fried Lycium Fruit Ian Chao Gou Qi Zi enters the Kidneys, moves downward, augments Jing and is easier to digest.
  16. Cuscuta-fried Lycium Fruit Tu Si Zi Chao Gou Qi Zi is more Yang-tonifying, enabling it to replenish Jing and fortify Yang. It is used for debilitated primal Yang Qi.
