CONTRAINDICATIONS
  • Contraindicated for those with Phlegm-Fire.
  • Contraindicated for those with Fire from constraint.
  • Contraindicated for those with Phlegm with Qi Stagnation.
  • Contraindicated for those with Dampness in the Middle Jiao.
  • Contraindicated for those with Wind-Heat in the Lungs and cough with Phlegm or Blood.
  • Contraindicated for those with a Yang constitution.
  • Contraindicated for those with Fire in the Heart or Lungs.
  • Contraindicated for those with fullness in the Middle with nausea or vomiting.
  • Contraindicated for those with constrained Qi clumped in the epigastrium.

Qi and Blood Deficiency

Soak and drink daily for Qi and Blood Deficiencies with Cold due to Yang Deficiency

 

  1. It is commonly used for problems associated with an Excess of pensiveness or overwork.
  2. Use singly in porridge for weak people, people recovering from illness, old people and women after delivery.
  3. It can be used alone to treat Spleen and Heart Deficiency.
  4. Store in the refrigerator.
  5. It supplements the Qi of the Spleen and Heart in people with Blood Deficiency.
  6. It is used as a food and confection - excessive use will damage the Spleen.
  7. This herb has been noted historically to quiet the emotions and treat aversion to food.
  8. Long-term consumption strengthens the corporeal and ethereal Souls, sharpens the intelligence, lightens the body, prevents aging and facilitates enlightenment of the Spirit.
  9. This herb is reputed to treat menopause. It is said to render the skin diaphanous and the eye radiant and sexually vibrant.
  10. Both Long Yan Rou and Fr. Jujube Da Zao are sweet, warm, augment Qi and Blood , tonify the Spleen and Stomach and calm the Spirit. Da Zao is less able to calm the Spirit but can moderate the harsh effects of other herbs, preventing them from injuring the Spleen. Long Yan Rou is more sweet and warm, which enhances the Spleen and is more moistening to tonify Blood more than Qi. It is better able to calm the Spirit, enhance the emotions and enrich the Heart.
