Prepared Plastrum Testudinis Zhi Gui Ban 9-30g Nourishes Yin, anchors the Yang, nourishes the Blood, enriches Yin, stabilizes the Chong and Ren channels, cools the Blood and stops uterine bleeding.
Dry-Fried Rx. Paeoniae Alba Chao Bai Shao 15-30g Nourishes the Blood and regulates menstruation.
With Huang Qin, cools Heat and nourishes the Blood for calming the fetus which is disturbed by Heat.
(Rx. Paeoniae Rubra) (Chi Shao) (6-9g) (Invigorates the Blood, dispels Blood Stasis, relieves pain, clears Heat and cools the Blood. May substitute for Chao Bai Shao.)
(With Xiang Fu, for flank pain, abdominal pain, and dysmenorrhea due to Qi and Blood Stagnation.)
Dry-Fried Rx. Scutellariae Chao Huang Qin 6-30g Cools the Blood, stops bleeding, clears Heat and calms the fetus.
Cx. Ailanthi Chun Pi 3-22.5g Clears Heat, astringes Intestines, dries Dampness, stops diarrhea and stops bleeding.
With Gui Ban, Bai Xiao, Huang Qin, Huang Bai and Xiang Fu, for continuous uterine bleeding.
Dry-Fried Cx. Phellodendri Chao Huang Bai 6-9g Drains Kidney Fire.
Rz. Cyperi Xiang Fu 6-9g Spreads and regulates Liver Qi, regulates menstruation and alleviates pain.

CLINICAL MANIFESTATIONS

  • Continuous menstruation or
  • Uterine bleeding that alternates between spotting and gushing
  • The Blood is very red, thick and sticky and may contain dark-purple clots
  • A sensation of Heat and irritability in the chest
  • Menstruation may be delayed
  • Dry mouth
  • Leukorrhea
  • Dysuria
