  • Contraindicated for those with Deficiency Cold in the Middle Jiao.
  • Contraindicated for those with Cold diarrhea.

  • Use caution for those with Blood Deficiency with abdominal pain.
  • Use caution for those with edema due to Spleen Deficiency.
  • Use caution for those with loose stools due to Kidney Deficiency.
  • Use caution for those with amenorrhea due to Blood Deficiency.

HERB/DRUG INTERACTIONS
  • This herb may have a synergistic effect with beta-lactam antibiotics such as ampecillin, amoxicillin and cefotaxime to restore the effectiveness of these drugs against beta-lactum-resistant Staphylococces aureus and methicillin-resistant Staphylococces aureus .

  1. It makes the placenta and uterus healthy.

  10. Both Huang Qin and Gypsum Fibrosum Shi Gao cool Lung Heat and drain Fire from the Qi Level. Huang Qin clears Heat, dries Dampness, cools the Blood to stop bleeding and calms the fetus when disturbed by Heat. Shi Gao cools, releases and vents Heat from the muscle layer. It eliminates Heat so fluids can regenerate. It drains Heat from the Qi Level and clears Dry-Heat from the Lungs and Stomach.
  11. Bland Scutellaria Dan Huang Qin is the normal herb.
  12. Young Scutellaria Roots Zi Huang Qin enters the Large Intestine channel to drain the Large Intestine and Lower Jiao Heat.
  13. Dried Scutellaria Ku Huang Qin enters the Lung channel to clear and drain Lung Fire and release External Wind-Heat.
  14. Dry-fried Scutellaria Chao Huang Qin enters the Blood Level to treat Lower Jiao Heat or disturbed fetal Qi.
  15. Wine-fried Scutellaria Jiu Chao Huang Qin clears and eliminates Damp-Heat from the Upper Jiao.
  16. Charred Scutellaria Huang Qin Tan or Scorched Scutellaria Jiao Huang Qin cools Heat and stops bleeding for  hemorrhage due to Blood Heat.
  17. Huang Qin is a comprehensive agent for the Liver and Gallbladder, including fat metabolism and a remedy for various hypersensitivity or allergic reactions including food allergies.
