CONTRAINDICATIONS
  • Use with caution for those with Deficiency Cold.

Profuse bleeding and abdominal pain after miscarriage or abortion.

As a powder, topically for eczema or ulcerations with itching, redness, swelling and discharge.

 

  1. This herb has a special antibacterial effect on the digestive system.
  2. It is considered one of the finest cooling-astringent hemostatic herbs.
  3. Powder this herb and mix with sesame oil and apply topically for first through fourth degree burns.
  4. Apply the juice topically for carbuncles and sores.
  5. Both Di Yu and Flos Sophorae Immaturus Huai Mi are important for treating Intestinal bleeding and dysfunctional uterine bleeding. Huai Mi cools the Liver and brings down Fire while Di Yu reduces swelling and stops pain, closing and promoting the healing of sores.
  6. Di Yu, Hb. sive Rx. Cirsii Japonici Da Ji, Hb. Cirsii Xiao Ji and Flos Sophorae Immaturus Huai Mi all cool the Blood to stop bleeding. Di Yu is best at stopping bleeding and resolving Heat toxin and can reduce swelling, stop pain and close and promote the healing of lesions. Da Ji and Xiao Ji are usually used together. Da Ji is best at stopping bleeding and resolving toxin. Xiao Ji promotes urination and is particularly helpful for hematuria. Huai Mi and Di Yu are both important for treating Blood loss through the Intestines and for dysfunctional uterine bleeding. Huai Mi also cools the Liver and brings down Fire.
  7. Dry-fried Sanguisorba Chao Di Yu is not as cold and much better at astringing, especially if it is fried with vinegar, which makes it much better at stopping bleeding. It can be used for any type of bleeding.
