Rx. et Rz. Notopterygii Qiang Huo 3-6g Releases the Exterior, disperses Cold, expels Wind-Damp from the upper Tai Yang, unblocks Painful Obstruction, alleviates pain and guides Qi to the Tai Yang and DU channels.
With Du Huo, for systemic Wind-Dampness.
With Chuan Xiong, for headache and generalized body aches and pains associated with the common cold or painful obstruction.
With Fang Feng, for pain due to External Wind-Dampness.
With Fang Feng, Gao Ben and Chuan Xiong, for Wind-Damp headache.
Rx. Angelicae Pubescentis Du Huo 3-6g Releases the exterior, disperses Cold, expels Wind-Cold-Dampness, unblocks Painful Obstruction (Bi) from the lower Tai Yang alleviates pain, increases joint mobility and guides Qi to the Tai Yang and Du Channels.
With Qiang Huo, Gao Ben and Man Jing Zi for Wind-Cold-Damp headache.
With Fang Feng, for numbness in the legs.
With Qiang Huo, Fang Feng, Man Jing Zi and Gao Ben, for Wind-Cold-Dampness with headache, chills and fever and muscle and joint pain.

Rx. Saposhnikoviae Fang Feng 1.5-6g Releases the exterior, expels Wind-Cold-Dampness, stops pain, expels Internal Wind, stops spasms, Moves Qi, tonifies the Spleen and treats gout.
Rz. Ligustici Chuanxiong Chuan Xiong 1-3g Activates Blood, regulates Qi, expels Wind-Cold and alleviates pain - good for headaches.
With Fang Feng, Qiang Huo and Gao Ben, for Wind-Damp lateral headache.
Fr. Viticis Man Jing Zi 0.9-6g Disperses Wind, clears Heat, Dispels Wind-Heat in the Liver channel, clears and benefits head and eyes, drains Dampness, expels Wind and relieves pain.
With Qiang Huo, Du Huo and Gao Ben, for superficial Wind-Dampness with a heavy and painful head and generalized heaviness.

  • Large doses may cause excess perspiration Common cold with perspiration and injure Fluids and Yang.

NOTES

  • This condition is usually found in people who have caught cold after sweating profusely or who live in a damp environment.
  • Recent research shows this formula to be effective in relieving pain, inducing diaphoresis, activating Blood, inducing diuresis, and resisting viruses.
