Food Stagnation with Spleen Deficiency.

  1. This herb showed slight toxicity in experiments with frog hearts.
  2. Besides being a digestive, it is useful for relieving a congestive state with foggy mind, slow reflexes and chronic Phlegm.
  3. Use alone for abdominal distention.
  4. This herb is very good for chronic Food Stagnation and Stomach distention.
  5. Unprepared, this herb raises Qi to drive out Wind-Phlegm and relieve the Upper Jiao with the symptom of a stifling sensation in the chest. It often causes vomiting which aids in the treatment of Wind-stroke with Phlegm welling upward and Food Stagnation. When dried, it descends Qi, transforms Phlegm and mobilizes the Spleen channel to promote the flow of Spleen Qi and reduce Food Stagnation to treat coughing and wheezing with profuse Phlegm, abdominal distention, belching, anorexia and diarrhea with tenesmus with Food Stagnation.
  6. Both Lai Fu Zi and Sm. Sinapis Bai Jie Zi excel at reducing Phlegm to treat cough and wheezing. Lai Fu Zi is gentle and neutral, acts within the organs, regulates Lung, Spleen and Large Intestine Qi to dispel fullness and eliminate Food Stagnation. It can be used for Hot or Colon disorders. Bai Jie Zi is warm, extremely ding and act promotes Qi at the level of the channels and collaterals to dispel Phlegm between the skin and the membranes. It should only be used to treat Cold-Phlegm because of its warm nature.
  7. Unprepared Radish Seeds Sheng Lai Fu Zi cause vomiting. They can be applied topically, powdered and mixed with rice wine to treat bruising do to trauma.
  8. Dry-fried Radish Seeds Chao Lai Fu Zi are warm rather than neutral and descending rather than ascending to transform Phlegm, reduce Food Stagnation and eliminate distention.
  9. Dried Radish Leaf Luo Bo Ye treats diarrhea and dysentery.
  10. The fresh root Luo Bo treats digestive distress, hoarseness, thirst, dysentery, migraine, epistaxis, and Blood in the sputum.
  11. The dried shrunk root Di Gu Luo is a soothing diuretic for urinary irritation and water retention.
