Rx. Ginseng Ren Shen 3-30g Tonifies Lung Qi.
Honey-prepared Pericarpium Papaveris Mi Zhi Ying Su Ke 6-240g Astringes leakage of Lung Qi.
With Wu Mei, for floating dispersal of Lung Qi chronic cough, wheezing and exhaustion.
With Wu Mei and Wu Wei Zi, for chronic, incessant cough.
(Fr. Chebulae) (He Zi) (30g) (May substitute for Mi Zhi Ying Su Ke.)
(Galla Chinensis) (Wu Bei Zi) (30g) (May substitute for Mi Zhi Ying Su Ke.)
(Sm. Ginkgo) (Bai Guo) (30g) (May substitute for Mi Zhi Ying Su Ke.)
Fr. Mume Wu Mei 3-30g Astringes leakage of Lung Qi, stops leakage of sweat and stops coughs.
With Mi Zhi Ying Su Ke, for chronic non-productive cough.
Fr. Schisandrae Wu Wei Zi 3-30g Astringes leakage of Lung Qi, stops cough, astringes sweat and generates fluids.
Colla Corii Asini E Jiao 3-30g Nourishes and moistens Yin and moistens the Lungs and Large Intestine.
With Wu Wei Zi, Chuan Bei Mu, Kuan Dong Hua and Ren Shen, for chronic cough, asthma, and spontaneous sweating due to Lung Qi and Yin Deficiency.
Flos Farfarae Kuan Dong Hua 3-30g Moistens the Lungs, descends Qi, stops cough and transforms Phlegm.
Bul. Fritillariae Cirrhosae Chuan Bei Mu 1.5-15g Clears Heat, transforms Phlegm, stops cough and nourishes and moistens the Lung.
Rx. Platycodi Jie Geng 3-30g Opens the Lungs, spreads Lung Qi, expels Phlegm, benefits the throat and opens and raises Lung Qi, directing the effects of other herbs to the upper body.
Cx. Mori Sang Bai Pi 3-30g Drains Heat from the Lungs, stops cough and calms wheezing.
Rz. Zingiberis Recens Sheng Jiang 4-6g Reduces the toxicity of other herbs.
With Da Zao, prevents Phlegm accumulation.
Fr. Jujube Da Zao 2g Moderates and harmonizes the harsh properties of other herbs.

CONTRAINDICATIONS
  • Contraindicated for those with pronounced Phlegm.
  • Contraindicated for those with Exterior signs and symptoms.
HERB/DRUG INTERACTIONS
  • Pericarpium Papaveris Ying Su Ke is not used due to its potentially toxic and addictive properties.
For more severe Yin Deficiency with a red tongue and no coat: For profuse sputum:
