Rx, Angelicae Sinensis Dang Gui 9-12g Tonifies, invigorates and harmonizes the Blood, regulates the menses, disperses Cold, stops pain due to Blood Stasis, reduces swelling, expels pus, generates flesh and alleviates pain.
With Huang Qi, for many Blood Deficiency patterns.
With Bai Shao, regulates and harmonizes Qi and Blood.
With Chuan Xiong, harmonizes, nourishes and invigorates the Blood and disperses Blood Stasis.
With Jin Yi Hua, reduces obstruction and toxicity for swollen, painful sores and necrosis of surrounding tissue.
Rx. Paeoniae Alba Bai Shao 6-9g Nourishes the Blood, regulates menstruation, astringes Yin, softens the Liver and relieves pain.
With Gan Cao, regulates the relationship between the Liver and Spleen.
With Bai Shao, nourishes Yin and Blood.
Rx. Arnebiae/Lithospermi Zi Cao 3-9g Clears Heat, cools the Blood, invigorates Blood circulation, relieves Fire toxins, encourages rashes and clears Damp-Heat from the skin.
With Da Huang, for constipation
Rx. et Rz. Rhei Da Huang 1-3g Drains Heat, purges accumulations, drains Fire, transforms Dampness, drains Heat from the Blood, invigorates the Blood, dispels Blood Stasis and reduces Fire toxicity.
With Dang Gui, for Blood Stasis.
Caulis Lonicerae Ren Dong Teng 6-9g Clears Heat, resolves toxicity, cools the Blood, clears Damp-Heat from the Lower Jiao and expels Wind-Heat.
(Flos Lonicerae) (Jin Yin Hua) (2-6g) (Used instead of Ren Dong Teng in some versions.)
Rz. Cimicifugae Sheng Ma 1-3g Releases the exterior, vents measles, clears Heat, relieves toxicity, raises Yang and lifts Sunken Qi.
With Dang Gui, raises the clear Qi, allowing turbidity to descend and moistening the Intestines.
With Bai Shao and Gan Cao, for incomplete expression of measles.
Rx. Astragali Huang Qi 6-9g Tonifies Qi and Blood, strengthens the Spleen, raises the Yang Qi of the Spleen and Stomach, promotes the discharge of pus, generates flesh and expels toxins.
With Dang Gui, for Qi and Blood Deficiency with chronic non-healing sores.
With Sheng Ma, raises the Yang Qi of the Spleen.
Concha Ostreae Mu Li 6-9g Heavily settles and calms the Spirit, calms the Liver, benefits Yin, anchors Floating Yang, softens hardness and dissipates nodules.
Rz. Chuanxiong Chuan Xiong 3-9g Invigorates the Blood and promotes the movement of Qi.
Rx. Glycyrrhizae Gan Cao 1-3g Tonifies the Spleen, augments Qi and moderates and harmonizes the harsh properties of other herbs.
