Hb. Lophatheri             Dan Zhu Ye 2-15g Clears Heat, eliminates irritability, promotes urination and clears Damp-Heat.
With Shi Gao, clears Yang Ming Heat and relieves irritability and lingering fever from febrile disease with insomnia, irritability and a scanty dry tongue coat.
(Fol. Lophatheri) (Zhu Ye) (2-15g) (Substitutes for Dan Zhu Ye - and is better for heat in the upper Jiao causing cough, irritability and thirst.)
Gypsum Fibrosum      Shi Gao 10-30g Clears Heat in the Qi Stage, drains Fire, relieves irritability, quenches thirst, clears lung Heat and Blazing Stomach Fire.
With Dan Zhu Ye and Mai Men Dong, for lingering fever from late stage febrile disease with dysphoria, thirst and a red tongue with no coat.
With Ren Shen, for excessive Heat with Qi Deficiency.
With Ren Shen, and Mai Men Dong for excessive Heat with Qi and Yin Deficiency
Rx. Ginseng                      Ren Shen 3-9g Tonifies Qi.
With Mai Men Dong, tonifies Qi and generates fluids
Rx. Ophiopogonis    Mai Men Dong 6-18g Moistens the Lungs and Stomach, nourishes Yin, generates fluids, clears the Heart and eliminates irritability.
With Zhi Ban Xia, Zhi Gan Cao and Geng Mi, for Stomach Yin Deficiency with hiccups and vomiting.
Rz. Pinelliae Preparatum Zhi Ban Xia 6-9g Descends Qi and stops vomiting.
With Ren Shen, for vomiting due to Stomach Deficiency.
Rx. Glycyrrhizae Preparata Zhi Gan Cao 2-6g Tonifies the Spleen, augments Qi, moistens the Lungs, resolves Phlegm, stops cough, clears Heat, relieves Fire toxicity and moderates and harmonizes the harsh properties of other herbs.
With Geng Mi, assists Ren Shen in tonifying Qi, Nourishes the Stomach and harmonizes the Middle Jiao.
With Ren Shen, relieves palpitations and anxiety.
Nonglutinous Rice Geng Mi 12-15g Tonifies the Qi of the Lungs, Spleen and Intestines, stops restlessness, stops thirst and generates fluids.

CONTRAINDICATIONS
  • Contraindicated for those with febrile disease where both normal and pathogenic Qi are abundant.
  • Contraindicated for those with febrile disease where the fever remains high.
  • Contraindicated for those with febrile disease where the Qi and Yin have not been injured.
  • Contraindicated for those with febrile disease, a stifling sensation in the chest, dry heaves, and a yellow greasy tongue coat due to Damp-Heat.

For insufficient Stomach Qi and Yin with mild or no Stomach Heat signs: For Stomach Yin Deficiency with oral ulcerations and a red, dry tongue:
