Hb. Ephedrae Ma Huang 4-9g Strong diaphoretic, relieves the Exterior and dispels External Cold.
With Zhi Fu Zi, for Wind-Cold Bi.
Rx. Aconiti Lateralis Preparata Zhi Fu Zi 0.5-10g Stimulates Yang, warms the Interior and warms the channels.
With Xi Xin, disperses Cold and stops pain for Cold damage both Internal and External with aversion to Cold, headache and generalized body aches with aching joints and Wind-Damp-Cold Bi with spasms of the joints and intolerable pain.
With Ma Huang and Xi Xin, for Wind-Cold Attack with preexisting Yang Deficiency.
Hb. cum Rx. Asari Xi Xin 1-6g Releases Exterior Wind and Cold, disperses Wind-Cold and Internal Cold, alleviates pain, assists Ma Huang to release the Exterior, helps Zhi Fu Zi disperse Cold and focuses the actions of the formula on the Shao Yin.
With Ma Huang, alleviates Wind-Cold-Damp Bi pain.

CONTRAINDICATIONS AND HERB/DRUG INTERACTIONS

CONTRAINDICATIONS
  • Use only with mild Yang Deficiency.
  • Do not use for those without Yang Deficiency.
  • Contraindicated during pregnancy and while nursing.
  • Contraindicated for those with Heat Excess and/or Dryness.
  • Contraindicated for those with Yin Deficiency.
HERB/DRUG INTERACTIONS
  • This formula has successfully treated elderly patients with fever caused by bacterial infection of unknown origin who failed to respond to ofloxacin.
  • This formula is a possible alternative treatment for fever that does not respond to antibiotics more at least three days.
