CONTRAINDICATIONS
  • Contraindicated for those with Spleen Deficiency Cold with loose stools or diarrhea.
  • Contraindicated for those with frequent urination.
  • Contraindicated for those with chronic pain with emaciation.
  • High doses may cause nausea and vomiting.
  • This herb may cause drowsiness.

Infectious hepatitis with jaundice.

 

 

  1. This is a good herb for lower body pain.
  2. It is one of the chief herbs for treating patients with weak constitutions and lower body joint pain.
  3. This herb is also excellent for whole body pain.
  4. This herb can be used for all types of conditions (acute , chronic, hot and cold).
  5. This herb is often used to counteract the drying effects of other Wind-Dampness dispelling herbs.
  6. Because this herb is slightly cold, while most other Wind-Cold Damp herbs are warm, it is particularly suitable for Heat Bi.
  7. It can be used in the treatment of steaming bones, Heat from consumption, Heat during pregnancy and constrained Heat associated with childhood nutritional impairment.
  8. Both Qin Jiao and Rx. Clematidis Wei Ling Xian treat pain and limited movement associated with Wind-Dampness, especially in the lower body. Qin Jiao tends to be cooling and primarily expels Dampness and is best for Wind- Dampness with a tendency toward Heat. The greater the Dampness the more appropriate is the use of this herb. It is also good for steaming bones due to exhaustion as well as Damp-Heat jaundice. Wei Ling Xian is warm and highly mobilizing and is best for Cold Bi with pain, limited movement and even paralysis. It also softens hardness to treat clumping. It is also used for fish bones stuck in the throat.
  9. Both Qin Jiao and Rx. Gentianae Long Dan Cao eliminate Dampness, reduce Heat and are used for Damp-Heat jaundice. Qin Jiao expels Wind and Dampness but is not overly drying. It is mainly used to treat Wind-Damp Bi and Steaming Bone disorder with tidal fever. Long Dan Cao is bitter and very cold, primarily draining Fire from the Liver channel, Lower Jiao Damp-Heat and Liver Fire with red eyes, vertigo, and tinnitus. it also treats cramps and spasms due to Liver Heat generating Wind, or vaginal swelling and itching due to Lower Jiao Damp-Heat.
  10. Dry-fried Large Gentian Root Chao Qin Jiao is slightly warm and is good for treating Wind-Damp-Cold Bi.
