Rx. et Rz. Notopterygii Qiang Huo 1.5-45g Releases the Exterior, disperses Cold, expels Wind-Cold-Dampness, unblocks painful obstruction (Bi), alleviates pain, increases joint mobility and guides Qi to the Tai Yang and DU channels.
With Fang Feng, for pain due to External Wind-Dampness.
With Fang Feng and Jiang Huang, for Wind-Cold-Damp Bi.
With Fang Feng, Dang Gui, Chi Shao, Zhi Gan Cao and Jiang Huang, for muscle aches and joint pain due to Wind-Cold-Dampness.
Rz. Curcumae Longae Jiang Huang 2-45g Expels Wind,invigorates Blood, promotes the movement of Qi and opens the channels and collaterals to alleviate pain.
With Qiang Huo, Fang Feng and Dang Gui, for Wind-Damp Bi, especially of the shoulder.
Wine Washed Rx. Angelica Sinensis Jiu Xi Dang Gui 3-45g Nourishes Blood, invigorates and harmonizes Blood, disperses Cold and stops pain.
With Huang Qi, for Qi and Blood Deficiency.
With Bai Shao, regulates and harmonizes Qi and Blood.
Honey-Prepared Rx. Astragali Mi Zhi Huang Qi 3-45g Tonifies Qi and Blood, tonifies Wei Qi, stabilizes the exterior and relieves numbness and pain.
With Qiang Huo and Jiang Huang, for Wind-Damp painful obstruction of the shoulder.
Rx. Paeoniae Alba Bai Shao 3-45g Nourishes the Blood and adjusts the Ying and Wei.
With Zhi Gan Cao, for muscle spasms, pain and numbness, especially in the calf, due to Blood Deficiency.
With Dang Gui, nourishes Yin and Blood.

Rx. Saposhnikoviae Fang Feng 1.5-45g Releases the exterior, expels Wind-Dampness and alleviates pain.
With Qiang Huo and Dang Gui, for Wind-Cold-Damp Bi.
Rx. Glycyrrhizae Preparata Zhi Gan Cao 1-15g Moderates and harmonizes the harsh properties of the other herbs and prevents injury to normal Qi.
Fr. Jujube Da Zao 2-6 Tonifies the Spleen and Stomach, augments Qi , nourishes the Blood and moderates and harmonizes the harsh properties of other herbs.
With Sheng Jiang, for External Wind-Cold.
Rz. Zingiberis Recens Sheng Jiang 3-6g Releases the Exterior, induces perspiration, disperses Cold, adjusts the Ying and Wei and normalizes the flow of Qi at the center.
With Da Zao, protects the Stomach Qi and reduces irritation of the gastrointestinal tract by other herbs.

  • A generalized sensation of heaviness
  • Neck, shoulder, elbow and upper back stiffness
  • Numbness of the extremities
  • Difficulty moving
  • Wandering joint pain, especially in the neck, shoulder, upper back and elbow
  • Upper back spasms
  • Immobility of the joints
  • Wandering joint pain

  • P: Moderate or Floating and slow or Slippery or Slow or Superficial and wiry or tight
