Rx. et Rz. Rhei Da Huang 4.5-9g Drains Heat and Fire, purges accumulations, transforms Dampness, promotes urination, Invigorates the Blood, dispels Blood Stasis and reduces Fire toxicity.
With Mang Xiao, eliminates obstruction in the Intestines and treats abscess, swellings and toxic sores.
With Mang Xiao and Gan Cao (Tiao Wei Cheng Qi Tang), drains Yang Ming Heat.
With Huang Qin, Zhi Zi and Lian Qiao, for strong pathogenic Heat in the Upper and Middle Jiaos.
Natrii Sulfas Mang Xiao 3-9g Softens hardness, purges accumulations, clears Heat, drains Fire, reduces swelling and eliminates Stagnation.
With Da Huang, for constipation due to Colon Heat.
Rx. Glycyrrhizae Gan Cao 2.5-9g Clears Heat, relieves Fire toxicity and harmonizes.
Rx. Scutellariae Huang Qin 3-6g Drains Fire, clears Heat, dries Dampness, detoxifies and clears Lung and Liver Heat.
With Zhi Zi, powerfully clears and drains lurking Heat from the Lungs with fever, fullness in the chest, cough with yellow sputum and epistaxis or hematemesis, Clears Damp-Heat and jaundice, treats sores due to Heat toxin and irregular vaginal bleeding due to Liver Fire
Fr. Gardeniae Zhi Zi 3-6g Clears Heat from all three Jiaos through the urine and resolves Dampness.
Fr. Forsythiae Lian Qiao 3-18g Clears Lung Heat, relieves toxicity, reduces abscesses and dissipates clumps .
Hb. Menthae Haplocalycis Bo He 2.5-6g Helps release Upper Jiao Heat, benefits the head and throat and relieves Liver Qi Stagnation.

CONTRAINDICATIONS
  • Reduce or omit Da Huang when constipation is gone or there is mild abdominal pain, pus in stool and/or reduced energy.
  • Weak patients.
  • Contraindicated during pregnancy.
