Gypsum Fibrosum Shi Gao 6-15g Clears Fire and Heat from the Qi Level, encourages the generation of fluids, eliminates irritability and thirst and clears Excess Heat from the Lungs and Stomach .
With Xi Jiao (Shui Niu Jiao), for epidemic Damp-Heat toxin with high fever, loss of consciousness, epistaxis, and rash.
With Xi Jiao and Xuan Shen, for Heat at the Qi and Blood Stages with skin eruptions and echymosis.
Calcitum Han Shui Shi 6-15g Clears Heat and drains Fire from the Yang Ming/Qi Level, drains Fire, eliminates irritability and alleviates thirst.
With Shi Gao and Hua Shi, for Heat in the Yang-Ming/Qi level (Summerheat) with high fever, thirst and irritability.
Talcum Hua Shi 10-15g Eliminates Heat through the urine.
With Zhi Gan Cao, for Summerheat causing painful urinary dysfunction, thirst, irritability, and fever.
Cornu Rhinoceri Xi Jiao .5-1.5g Clears Fire and Heat from the Heart and Liver channels, clears Heat from the Ying Level, cools the Blood and relieves toxicity.
With Ling Yang Jiao, clears Heat in the Heart and Liver channels and resolves spasms, convulsions and impaired consciousness.

Cornu Saigae Tataricae Ling Yang Jiao 0.5-3.6g Drains Liver Fire, Cools the Liver and extinguishes Wind.
With Shi Gao, for skin rash and delirium due to high fever.
With She Xiang, Han Shui Shi and Shi Gao, for High fever, delirium and convulsions.
Secretio Moschus She Xiang 0.3-0.8g Opens the Orifices and restores consciousness.
With Ling Yang Jiao and Shi Gao, for Blazing Heat in the Pericardium stirring up Liver Wind with spasms and convulsions.
With Ling Yang Jiao and Zhu Sha, for tremors and convulsions.
Rx. Scrophulariae Xuan Shen 5-15g Descends Fire, nourishes the Yin and eliminates irritability.
With Sheng Ma, clears Heat and relieves toxicity.
With Sheng Ma and Shui Niu Jiao, for macular rashes and purpura from Heat in the Blood.
With Xiao Shi and Mang Xiao, drains Heat and dissipates clumps.
Magnetitum Ci Shi 6-15g Anchors Liver Yang and calms the Spirit.
With Zhu Sha, sedates the Heart and calms the Spirit.
Rz. Cimicifugae Sheng Ma 5-9g Clears Heat and relieves toxicity.
With Shi Gao, clears Heat Excess and Fire toxin from the Yang Ming channel with toothache, swollen and bleeding gums or jaw, vertex headache or redness and swelling along the lower eyelid and treats rash resulting from Qi Stage/Yang Ming level Heat toxin.
Rx. Glycyrrhizae Preparata Zhi Gan Cao 2.4-6g Clears Heat, relieves Fire toxicity, harmonizes and protects the Stomach.
With Huang Jin, helps relieve toxicity.
(Rx. Aristolochiae) (Qing Mu Xiang) (1.5-6g) (Promotes the movement of Qi, stops pain, resolves toxicity, cuts through turbidity and reduces swellings.(
(With Chen Xiang and Ding Xiang, promotes the movement of Qi and assists She Xiang in opening orifices (generally considered to be the incorrect herb).)
Rx. Aucklandiae Mu Xiang 1.5-6g Promotes the movement of Qi , alleviates pain, adjusts and regulates stagnant Qi in the Intestines, strengthens the Spleen and prevents Stagnation. (This is considered the proper herb.)
Lignum Aquilariae Chen Xiang 1-3.6g Promotes movement of Qi, alleviates pain, descends Qi, regulates the Middle, dispels Cold, warms the Spleen and Stomach and stops vomiting
Flos Caryophylli Ding Xiang 0.3-2g Warms the Middle Jiao, relieves pain and descends Qi.
Cinnabaris Zhu Sha 0.9-2g Sedates the Heart, calms the Spirit, expels Phlegm, clears Heat, relieves toxicity and sedates jitteriness and convulsions while stopping tremors (not included in patent).
With Ci Shi, augments the Yin to reestablish communication between the Heart and Kidneys.
Natrii Sulfas Mang Xiao 9-50g Purges accumulations, guides out Stagnation, softens hardness, moistens Dryness, clears Heat, drains Fire and reduces swelling.
Prepared Nitrum Zhi Xiao Shi 0.9-15g Promotes diuresis, relieves constipation, removes toxin and relieves swellings.
Gold Jin Bo 10-30g Sedates the Spirit.
With Zhi Gan Cao, helps relieve toxicity. (not included in patent).

CONTRAINDICATIONS AND HERB/DRUG INTERACTIONS

CONTRAINDICATIONS
  • Contraindicated during pregnancy.
  • Discontinue use when consciousness returns.
  • Do not take Zhu Sha in large amounts or for a long time.
  • Side effects from overuse include: sweating, nausea, vomiting, cold extremities, a frozen effect, dyspnea, palpitations, dizziness and vertigo.
