Rx. Glycyrrhizae Preparata Zhi Gan Cao 9-18g Tonifies the Spleen, tonifies Qi, clears Heat, relieves toxicity, tonifies Heart Qi and restores the pulse.
Rx. Rehmanniae Sheng Di Huang 15-30g Clears Heat, cools the Blood, nourishes the Yin and Blood, generates Fluids and anchors Yang.
With Bai Shao, Mai Men Dong, Huo Ma Ren and E Jiao, nourishes Yin and Blood to eliminate Deficiency Heat.
With E Jiao, for coughing, hematemesis, epistaxis, and uterine hemorrhage due to Heat from Deficiency.
With Bai Shao, for Blood Deficiency Heat.
Rx. Paeoniae Alba Bai Shao 9-18g Calms Liver Yang, alleviates pain, nourishes Blood and astringes Yin.
With Sheng Di Huang and E Jiao, for Internal stirring of Liver Wind, as in the aftermath of a febrile disease.
Tub. Ophiopogonis Mai Men Dong 9-15g Moistens the Lungs, nourishes Stomach Yin, generates Fluids and clears the Heart.
Sm. Cannabis Huo Ma Ren 9-12g Nourishes Yin and clears Heat.
With Sheng Di Huang and Mai Men Dong, for Yin Deficiency with constipation.
Colla Corii Asini E Jiao 9-15g Nourishes the Blood and nourishes and moistens Yin.
With Gui Ban and Mu Li, for muscle spasms and contractures due to Yin Deficiency.
With Sheng Di Huang, for hematemesis or epistaxis due to Blood Heat.
Concha Ostreae Mu Li 15-30g Settles and calms the Shen, benefits Yin, anchors Yang and prevents leakage of Fluids.
With Bie Jia and Gui Ban, for movement of Liver Wind after a fever, manifesting as tremors and spasms.
With Sheng Di Huang and Bie Jia, for Internal stirring of Wind from deficiency.
Carapax Trionycis Bie Jia 15-30g Nourishes Yin and anchors Yang.
With Gui Ban , calms the Liver, subdues Yang and extinguishes Wind to treat vertigo and tinnitus associated with Yin Deficiency with Yang Rising and deficient Wind moving internally and steaming bones and nightsweats due to Liver and Kidney Yin Deficiencies with Heat Rising.
Plastrum Testudinis Gui Ban 15-30g Nourishes Yin, anchors Yang, benefits the Kidneys and cools and nourishes the Blood.
With Bie Jia and E Jiao, for low grade afternoon fever and night sweats due to Yin Deficiency with Yang rising.
With Mu Li, for irregular uterine bleeding.

CONTRAINDICATIONS
  • Omit Gui Ban and Bie Jia during pregnancy.
  • Use caution for those with diarrhea due to Spleen Yang Deficiency or Stomach Qi Deficiency.
