Rz. Coptidis Huang Lian 3-4.5g Clears Heat, drains Dampness, drains Fire, resolves Fire toxicity and stops bleeding.
With Huang Qin, drains pathogenic Heat from the Upper and Middle Jiaos for high fever, redness, swelling and pain of the head and face, dry mouth, parched throat, ulcerations of the mouth and tongue, epistaxis, rashes and irritability in warm-febrile disease.
With Huang Qin and Zhi Zi, for high fever, irritability, dry mouth and throat, and dark urine due to Fire toxin in the three burners.
Rx. Scutellariae Huang Qin 3-4.5g Clears Heat, dries Dampness, Drains Fire, detoxifies, cools the Blood and stops bleeding.
With Zhi Zi, powerfully clears and drains lurking Heat from the Lungs with fever, fullness in the chest, cough with yellow sputum and epistaxis or hematemesis and treats Damp-Heat and jaundice and sores due to Heat toxin.
With Huang Lian and Bai Shao, for Damp-Heat dysentery with fever and tenesmus.
With Bai Shao, Zhi Zi and Huang Bai, for Damp-Heat jaundice.
With Bai Shao, cools Heat and nourishes the Blood.
With Huang Lian, Zhi Zi and Huang Bai, for lesions and sores with redness, swelling and pain.
Cx. Phellodendri Huang Bai 3-4.5g Drains Damp-Heat especially from the Lower Jiao, drains Kidney Fire, drains Fire and relieves Fire toxicity.
With Zhi Zi, eliminates pathogenic Dampness from the Liver/Gallbladder for Yang type jaundice with noticeable fever, markedly yellow/orange skin and eyes, thirst, and a red tongue with a yellow coat.
Fr. Gardeniae Zhi Zi 3-4.5g Clears Heat, reduces Fire, eliminates irritability, clears Heat, resolves Dampness , cools the Blood and relieves toxicity (stops bleeding by astringing).
Rx. Rehmanniae Preparata Shu Di Huang 3-4.5g Nourishes the Blood and nourishes Liver and Kidney Yin.
With Dang Gui, for Blood Deficiency marked by dizziness, palpitations, insomnia and menstrual dysfunction.
With Dang Gui and Huang Lian, for Blood Deficiency with Heat leading to irregular menstruation and infertility.
With Dang Gui, Bai Shao and Chuan Xiong, for anemia.
Rz. Chuanxiong Chuan Xiong 3-4.5g Invigorates the Blood and promotes the movement of Qi.
