Hb. Ephedrae Ma Huang 6-9g Induces sweating, releases the exterior, disseminates and facilitates Lung Qi, calms wheezing, stops coughing, promotes urination, reduces edema and warms and disperses Cold pathogens.
|With Xing Ren, for Wind-Cold cough and wheezing.
Fr. Forsythiae Lian Qiao 6-15g Clears Heat, especially in the Upper Jiao, relieves toxicity, clears Blood Heat and promotes urination.
Sm. Armeniacae Xing Ren 6-9g Stops cough and calms wheezing.
Fr. Jujube Da Zao 3-6g Moderates and harmonizes the harsh properties of other herb.
With Sheng Jiang, for External Wind-Cold.
Cx. Catalpae Zi Bai Pi 9g Dispels Heat Toxins.
(Cx. Mori) (Sang Bai Pi) (6-9g) (Drains Heat from the Lungs, stops cough, calms wheezing, promotes urination and reduces edema. Usually substitutes for Zi Bai Pi.)
Sm. Phaseoli Chi Xiao Dou 9-30g Promotes urination, reduces edema, clears Damp- Heat, disperses Blood Stasis, reduces swelling and reduces Fire toxicity.
With Da Zao, for Deficiency edema.
With Ma Huang, Lian Qiao and Sang Bai Pi, for Damp-Heat jaundice (mild case).
Rz. Zingiberis Recens Sheng Jiang 3-6g Releases the Exterior, induces perspiration, disperses Cold, warms the Lungs, stops cough and reduces the toxicity of the other herbs.
With Ma Huang, strongly creates sweating to treat all externally contracted Wind-Cold disorders.
Rx. Glycyrrhizae Gan Cao 3-6g Moistens the Lungs, resolves Phlegm, stops cough, clears Heat, relieves Fire toxicity and moderates and harmonizes the harsh properties of other herbs.
With Ma Huang, Xing Ren and Sheng Jiang, for coughing or wheezing due to Wind-Cold Attacks the Lungs.
