Rx. et Rz. Rhei Da Huang 6-9g Drains Heat, purges accumulations, drains Heat from the Blood, invigorates the Blood, dispels Blood Stasis and reduces Fire toxicity.
With Huang Qin and Huang Lian, for hematemesis or epistaxis due to Blood Heat.
Rx. Scutellariae Huang Qin 9-12g Drains Fire, detoxifies, cools the Blood and stops bleeding.
With Huang Lian, drains pathogenic Heat from the Upper and Middle Jiaos.
Rz. Coptidis Huang Lian 6-9g Drains Fire, resolves Fire toxicity, clears Heat and stops bleeding.
