Rx. Codonopsis Dang Shen 6-14g Tonifies the Middle Jiao, tonifies the Lungs and augments Qi.
With Fu Ling, for Spleen and Stomach Deficiencies with fatigue, a sensation of fullness in the abdomen, dizziness, lethargy, shortness of breath, anorexia and loose stools or diarrhea.
Rx. Ophiopogonis Mai Men Dong 6-15g Moistens the Lungs, nourishes Stomach Yin, clears the Heart and eliminates irritability.
With Sheng Di Huang, for hematemesis or epistaxis due to Yin Deficiency with Excess Heat.
With Xuan Shen and Sheng Di Huang, for thirst, constipation, irritability and low-grade fever due to Stomach Yin Deficiency in the aftermath of warm febrile disease where to the fluids have been injured.
Rx. Rehmanniae Sheng Di Huang 5-30g Clears Heat, cools the Blood, nourishes Yin, generates fluids and cools Heart Fire.
With E Jiao, for coughing, hematemesis, epistaxis, and uterine hemorrhage due to Heat from Deficiency.
With Sheng Di Huang and Mai Men Dong, for a dry throat, irritability, a red tongue, and a fast thready pulse due to Devastated Yin with Blazing Fire; excessive thirst, irritability, and a scarlet tongue due to Ying Stage Heat ; swelling of the throat and lymph nodes and constipation due to Excess Heat with Yin Deficiency.
With Mu Dan Pi, for Ying and Xue Stage Heat with a high fever, scarlet tongue, thirst, a rash all over the body, epistaxis and hemoptysis; residual Warm pathogen which has injured the Yin and Kidney Yin Deficiency with steaming bones.
With Xuan Shen, for Excess or Deficiency Heat patterns; late-stage febrile disease with irritability, thirst and constipation and Kidney Yin Deficiency with Fire Blazing with soreness and swelling in the throat, dry mouth and a parched tongue.
Rx. Glycyrrhizae Gan Cao 1.5-14g Tonifies the Spleen, augments Qi, moistens the Lungs, resolves Phlegm, clears Heat, relieves Fire toxicity and moderates and harmonizes the harsh properties of other herbs.
With Dang Shen, for anorexia, fatigue and loose stools due to Spleen Deficiency and palpitations due to Heart Qi Deficiency.
With Dang Shen and Gui Zhi, for palpitations due to Heart Qi Deficiency.
With Dang Shen, Gui Zhi, E Jiao and Sheng Di Huang, for Heart Qi and Blood Deficiencies with an irregular Heart beat and palpitations.
Colla Corii Asini E Jiao 3-16g Tonifies the Blood and nourishes and moistens Yin.
