Cornu Rhinoceri* Xi Jiao 3-6g Clears Heat from the Ying and Xue stages, relieves Fire toxicity, cools the Blood, clears skin blotches, stops bleeding Clears Heat and extinguishes Liver Wind.
*This is an endangered species, do not use.
With Sheng Di Huang, for loss of consciousness and delirium, with epistaxis, hematemesis, or purpura due to Blood Heat.
(Cornu Bubali) (Shui Niu Jiao) (30-60g) (Usually substitutes for Xi Jiao. Clears Heat from the Ying and Xue stages, relieves Fire toxicity, cools the Blood, stops bleeding, clears Heat and arrests tremors.)
Rz. Coptidis Huang Lian 3-9g Drains Fire, resolves Fire toxicity, clears Heat, stops bleeding and clears Heart and Stomach Fire.
Rz. Cimicifugae Sheng Ma 9g Clears Heat and relieves toxicity.
With Huang Lian, clears and drains Heart and Stomach Fire with swelling of the gums, toothache, and ulcerations of the mouth and tongue.
Fr. Gardeniae Zhi Zi 9-15g Clears Heat, reduces Fire, eliminates irritability, drains Damp-Heat, cools the Blood and relieves toxicity.
Hb. Artemisiae Scopariae Yin Chen Hao 30g Clears Damp-Heat from the Liver and Gallbladder and relieves jaundice.
With Zhi Zi, strongly relieves Damp-Heat jaundice.
