with Chuan Xiong, harmonizes, nourishes and invigorates the Blood and disperses Blood Stasis.
Rz. Chuanxiong Chuan Xiong 1.5-6g Expels Wind, alleviates pain, activates the Blood and promotes the movement of Qi.
With Dang Gui, for Wind-Damp Invasion blocking the Blood vessels causing pain, numbness, and paralysis.
With Fang Feng and Jie Geng, for headache due Wind-Cold Invasion.
Rx. Paeoniae Rubra Chi Shao 1.5-8g Clears Liver Fire, relieves eye pain, Invigorates the Blood. dispels Blood Stasis, clears Heat and cools the Blood.
With Huang Qin and Ju Hua, for redness, pain and swelling of the eyes.
Rx. Rehmanniae Sheng Di Huang 1.5-8g Clears Heat, cools the Blood, nourishes Yin, generates fluids, increases saliva and treats wasting and thirsting.
With Dang Gui, Chan Tui and Fang Feng, for skin disorders with itching due to Heat in the Blood.
Rz. Coptidis Huang Lian 1-4g Drains Fire, resolves Fire toxicity, clears Heat and drains Dampness.
With Huang Qin and Zhi Zi, for high fever, irritability, dry mouth and throat, and dark urine due to Fire toxin in the three burners.
With Sheng Di Huang, for Insomnia and delirium due to unremitting Heat injuring the Ying level.
With Huang Qin, drains pathogenic Heat from the Upper and Middle Jiaos for high fever, redness, swelling and pain of the head and face, dry mouth, parched throat, ulcerations of the mouth and tongue, epistaxis, rashes and irritability in warm-febrile disease.

With Bo He, for Wind-Heat patterns with fever, chills, headache, dizziness, sore eyes and sore throat and Liver Qi Stagnation turning to Liver Fire Flaring upward with blurred vision, dizziness, headache and red, swollen eyes (use Bai Ju Hua).

Rx. Platycodi Jie Geng 1-6g Opens and raises Lung Qi, directing the effects of other herbs to the upper body.
With Gan Cao, for Excess disorders in the Upper Jiao with no disorder in the Lower Jiao.
With Gan Cao and Huang Qin, for hoarseness, pain and swelling of the throat due to Wind-Heat.
Rx. Glycyrrhizae Gan Cao 1-6g Moderates and harmonizes the harsh properties of other herbs.
With Jie Geng, for pain and swelling of the throat.
