Rx. Rehmanniae Sheng Di Huang 15g Clears Heat, cools the Blood, nourishes Yin, generates fluids and increases saliva.
With Xuan Shen, for Excess or Deficiency Heat patterns, late-stage febrile disease with irritability, thirst and constipation and Kidney Yin Deficiency with Fire Blazing with soreness and swelling in the throat, dry mouth and a parched tongue.
Rx. Scrophulariae Xuan Shen 15g Clears Heat, cools the Blood, nourishes Yin, softens hardness, dissipates nodules, drains Fire and relieves toxicity.
Rx. Trichosanthis Tian Hua Fen 15g Drains Heat, generates Fluids, clears and drains Lung Heat, transforms Phlegm, moistens Lung Dryness, relieves toxicity, expels pus and reduces swelling.
Rz. Polygonati Odorati Yu Zhu 10g Nourishes Yin, moistens Dryness, moistens the Lungs, nourishes the Stomach, generate fluids and extinguishes Wind.
With Sheng Di Huang, resolves cysts.
Fr. Lycii Gou Qi Zi 15g Nourishes and tonifies Liver and Kidney Blood and Yin and moistens the Lungs.
Fr. Ligustri Lucidi Nu Zhen Zi 15g Nourishes and tonifies the Liver and Kidney Yin and clears Deficiency Heat.
Hb. Dendrobii Shi Hu 30g Nourishes the Yin, clears Heat, generates fluids, enriches Kidney Yin, reduces Heat from Deficiency and nourishes Stomach and Lung Yin.
With Sheng Di Huang and Xuan Shen, for low grade fever, thirst, blurred vision and muscular aches and pains from injured fluids due to Heat, as in late stage febrile disease.
Rx. Scutellariae Barbatae Ban Zhi Lian 30g Clears Heat, resolves Fire toxins, invigorates the Blood, reduces swelling and treats various types of cancer.
Fr. Xanthii Cang Er Zi 10g Disperses Wind and Dampness and opens nasal passages.
Placenta Hominis Zi He Che 15g Tonifies Liver and Kidneys, strengthens Jing, tonifies Lung Qi and nourishes the Blood.
Rx. Sophorae Tonkinensis Shan Dou Gen 10g Clears Heat, Relieves Fire toxicity, improves the throat, resolves Fire toxicity, disperses swellings and treats cancers.
Sp. Prunellae Xia Ku Cao 15g Clears Liver Fire, clears Hot Phlegm and dissipates nodules.

  • Usually asymptomatic at the early stage
  • The tumor may appear as a cauliflower-like nodule or ulceration on the nasopharynx or as membrane erosion of abnormal color
  • If the tumor infiltrates to the submucosal layer, the surface of the membrane will be smooth and the nasopharynx will be depressed
  • Cranial nerve involvement is reflected by:
    Paralysis of the eyeball
    Facial hypothesia or hypoalgesia
    Difficulty opening the mouth
    Inclination of the tongue when it protrudes
    Aphasia
    Paralysis of the soft palate
    Disappearance of the gullet response
