  1. This herb is good for old and weak patients. It is soaked in wine and used for low back pain, arthralgia, and difficulty walking.
  2. It is especially good when there is obstruction of the Qi and Blood flow.
  3. It is also useful for delays in the development of motor functions of children.
  4. Some sources say that this herb Invigorates the Blood and eliminates Blood Stasis.
  5. This herb is given when rheumatic or arthritic conditions appear together with underlying connective tissue weakness.
  6. The principle symptoms treated by this herb are joint pain due to Wind-Damp Bi and cramping and difficult movement of the sinews, but it is also useful for impotence, scrotal dampness, itching due to skin dampness, genital itching, Cold aching of the lower back and spine and developmental delay in those motor skills which allow a young child to take its first steps. it also promotes the flow of urine and used for edema at the skin level.
  7. Both Wu Jia Pi and Hb. Taxilli Sang Ji Sheng dispel wind-dampness, tonify the Liver and Kidneys and strengthen the sinews and bones. Sang Ji Sheng is neutral, more moistening, and milder in its ability to expel Wind- Dampness. It tonifies the Blood rather than the Yang of the Liver and Kidneys and is best at restoring Blood nourishment to the joints affected by Wind, Cold and Dampness. Wu Jia Pi is acrid, bitter and warm and primarily drives out pathogens. it also warms the Yang of the Liver and Kidneys.
  8. Sichuan Acanthopanacis Chuan Wu Jia Pi is warm acrid, quite gentle, harmonious and non-toxic. It is especially appropriate for medicinal liquor and is the substance used in Wu Jia Pi Liquor.
