NOTES

  1. It moistens dry tissues for dry cough and dry Intestines.
  2. The oil is applied topically to the head for migraines and vertigo.
  3. It treats sores and insect bites when crushed and applied topically.

  5. This herb brightens the eyes, blackens the hair, moistens the skin and lubricates the Intestines.
  6. Both Hei Zhi Ma and Fr. Mori Sang Shen serve as food as well as medicinals, both tonify the Liver and Kidneys, enrich Yin, augment the Blood, moisten Dryness and lubricate the Intestines. Hei Zhi Ma is neutral, enters the Kidneys to replenish the essence and augment the marrow. Sang Shen is cool, enters the Blood Level and secondarily tonifies the Kidneys.
  7. Dry-fried Sesame Seeds Chao Hei Zhi Ma have an enhanced ability ability to augment the Liver and Kidneys, replenish essence and Blood, lubricate the Intestines and treat constipation.
