  1. This herb primarily treats swellings, attacks toxins which have broken the skin, resolves all toxins and treats bites from snakes, insects and dogs.
  2. It is said that this herb eliminates Phlegm, and since all strange illnesses arise from Phlegm, it treats all strange illnesses.
  3. It is said to treat all types of cancerous swelling, especially adenocarcinoma.
  4. It is especially effective at clearing Heat to disperse Stasis for carbuncles, furuncles, inflammation, urticaria, malignant sores, scrofula and snake and dog bites.
  5. It can be used internally topically.
  6. Several substances are often substituted for this herb which are very toxic. One of these herbs is Iphigenia Bulb which is bitter, warm, enters the Lung channel and is very toxic. Its side effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, stupor, chills and exhaustion. The dosage is 0.1-0.5g in decoction and 1-3 drops in tincture form.
