- This herb is made from processing Fol. Isatidis Da Qing Ye.
- It is mainly used for treating high fevers in children.
- This herb clears Heat, resolves toxicity, cools the Blood, reduces maculae, drains the Liver, clears the Lungs, dispels Summerheat and settles convulsions.
- It is used topically for inflammation of the mouth and throat including mumps.
- It cools Heat from pathogenic invasion.
- It cools Lung Heat and Liver Fire.
- By cooling the Liver, it cools the Blood.
- It is particularly effective for nosebleeds internally or topically.
- This herb is especially indicated for dysphagia.
- It resolves toxicity from all types of medicinals.
- This herb has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells.
- For unperforated scrofula, crush Qing Dai and Hb. Portulacae Ma Chi Xian and apply to the lesion daily.
- Qing Dai, Fol. Isatidis Da Qing Ye and Rx. Isatidis Ban Lan Gen all originate from the same plants, cool Heat in the Blood, and reduce skin blotches. Qing Dai is best for toxic sores due to Fire and Heat, rashes from Warm toxins, hemoptysis and hematemesis and childhood convulsions. Da Qing Ye and Ban Lan Gen both cool Heat toxin in the Heart and Stomach, but Da Qing Ye is usually used for rashes from Warm toxin, while Ban Lan Gen is used for massive head febrile disorders and throat obstruction due to mumps.
