All charred for sudden onset of bleeding.

 

  1. Lotus Stem, Caul. Nelumbinis Lian Geng is similar to the leaf plus it opens and moves Qi in the chest. It is used for Summerheat-Dampness with a stifling sensation in the chest and diarrhea and Summerheat with vaginal discharge or painful urinary dysfunction. It can unblock the Qi, relax the sinews, raise Yang fluids, alleviate thirst, cool Heat, alleviate night sweats, mobilize water and cure irregular uterine bleeding and painful urinary dysfunction.
  2. One source says that He Ye reduces Food Stagnation and astringes Jing.
  3. Another source says that He Ye disperses Blood and raises Yang.
  4. Fresh Lotus Leaf Xian He Ye or Raw Lotus Leaf Sheng He Ye is stronger at cooling Summerheat and stops bleeding from Heat in the Blood. It is specific for epistaxis and hematemesis.
  5. Charred Lotus Leaf He Ye Tan is stronger at stopping bleeding and is combined with other herbs for irregular menstrual bleeding or pus and Blood in dysenteric disorders. It is also applied externally for sores which exude yellowish fluid and for moist eczema.
  6. Calyx Nelumbinis He Ye Di raises Yang Qi, strengthens the Spleen's transportive and transformative functions, dispels Dampness and harmonizes the Stomach.
