  1. This herb warms the Middle Jiao, descends Qi, warms the Qi of the Kidneys and Bladder and treats turbid urination.
  2. It excels at dispersing Cold and stopping pain.
  3. It is said to treat Cold bulging disorders, digest Food Stagnation and expel Wind in the skin.
  4. Both Bi Cheng Qie and Fr. Piperis Longi Bi Ba warm the Middle and disperse Cold to treat Middle Jiao Deficiency Cold . Bi Cheng Qie is warm, quite acrid, and more powerfully disperses to warm the Spleen and Stomach and eliminate Qi Stagnation. It is best for dispersing Cold, alleviating pain, and descending Qi. It is most appropriate for Qi Stagnation causing chest, epigastric and abdominal pain or for nausea, vomiting and hiccup due to Stomach Cold. Bi Ba is very Hot with a powerful ability to disperse Cold that has sunk deeply into the Middle Jiao and is most appropriate for Deficiency Cold of the Stomach and Intestines causing abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting.
  5. Rx. et Rz. Litseae Dou Chi Jiang is acrid, aromatic and warm. It enters the Liver and Lung channels and expels Wind, eliminates Dampness, regulates the flow of Qi and stops pain. It is used for Wind-Damp Bi and Stomach ache, but is most commonly used for lower back pain. It is also used for dysmenorrhea with a distended, painful lower abdomen that improves with Heat or pressure. It is also used for chills, headache and muscle aches due to an External disorder. The dosage is 1.5-6g.
