Rx. Saposhnikoviae Fang Feng 3g Releases the Exterior and expels External Wind.
With Jing Jie, expels Wind and stops itching for Exterior patterns in any season, pruritic rash and initial-stage boils.
With Bo He, Jing Jie, Huang Qin and Lian Qiao, for Wind-Heat.
With Bo He, Jing Jie and Lian Qiao, for Wind-Heat with red eyes and a sore throat
With Bo He, Huang Qin, Huang Lian and Lian Qiao, for acne due to Wind-Heat Attacking the upper body.
Fr. Forsythiae Lian Qiao 2.2-2.4g Clears Heat (especially in the Upper Jiao), relieves toxicity, reduces abscesses and clears Blood Heat.
Rx. Platycodi Jie Geng 2.2-2.4g Expels Phlegm, benefits the throat, expels pus and opens and raises Lung Qi, directing the effects of other herbs to the upper body.
With Gan Cao, for Excess disorders in the Upper Jiao with no disorder in the Lower Jiao.
With Gan Cao and Huang Qin, for hoarseness, pain and swelling of the throat due to Wind-Heat.
With Bai Zhi, for ulcerated abscess where pus is being discharged slowly.
Rx. Angelicae Dahuricae Bai Zhi 2.2-2.4g Expels Wind, eliminates Dampness, unblocks the nasal passages, dispels Cold, reduces swelling, eliminates toxins, expels pus and alleviates pain.
With Chuan Xiong, for headache.
With Huang Qin, for Wind-Heat headache.
Rx. Scutellariae Huang Qin 2-2.1g Clears Heat, dries Dampness, drains Fire, detoxifies, cools the Blood and stops bleeding.
With Zhi Zi, for sores due to Heat toxin.
Rz. Chuanxiong Chuan Xiong 2-2.1g Invigorates the Blood, promotes the movement of Qi, expels Wind and alleviates pain.
Hb. Schizonepetae Jing Jie 1.5-2g Releases the Exterior, expels Wind, vents rashes and relieves itching.
With Bo He, disperses Wind in the head, vents rashes and alleviates itching.
Fr. Gardeniae Zhi Zi 1-1.5g Clears Heat, reduces Fire, eliminates irritability, drains Damp-Heat, cools the Blood, relieves toxicity, reduces swelling and activates the Blood.
With Huang Lian, Huang Qi and Lian Qiao, for boils and carbuncles.
Rz. Coptidis Huang Lian 1-1.5g Clears Heat, drains Dampness, drains Fire and resolves Fire toxicity.
With Huang Qin, drains pathogenic Heat from the Upper and Middle Jiaos.
With Huang Qin and Zhi Zi, for high fever, irritability, dry mouth and throat, and dark urine due to Fire toxin in the three burners.
Hb. Menthae Haplocalycis Bo He 1-1.5g Disperses Wind-Heat, cools and clears the head and eyes, benefits the throat and vents rashes.
With Jing Jie, for Wind-Heat.
Fr. Aurantii Zhi Ke 0.6-1.5g Promotes the movement of Qi, reduces distention and pressure and resolves hardenings.
Rx. Glycyrrhizae Gan Cao 0.6-0.9g Clears Heat, relieves Fire toxicity and moderates and harmonizes the harsh properties of other herbs.
With Jie Geng, for pain and swelling of the throat.
