With Ma Huang and Gui Zhi, for Wind-Cold with stiffness and tension in the upper back and neck.

|Rx. Platycodi||Jie Geng||9g||Opens the Lungs, spreads Lung Qi, expels Phlegm, benefits the throat, expels pus and raises Lung Qi, directing the effects of other herbs to the upper body.
With Zhi Gan Cao, disseminates Lung Qi, expels Phlegm, resolves toxicity, and expels pus for productive cough with hoarseness, pain and swelling of the throat due to Wind-Heat and Lung abscess with expectoration of pus and pain in the chest and flanks.
With Zhi Gan Cao and Yi Yi Ren, for Lung abscess with chest pain, fever, cough with foul-smelling, yellow, sticky sputum.
