Rx. Bupleuri Chai Hu 3-12g Resolves Shao Yang disorders, reduces fever Spreads Liver Qi, relieves Stagnation, disperses Wind-Heat and resolves Phlegm and congestion.
With Huang Qin, restores normal function of the Liver and Gallbladder for Heat in the Shao Yang.
Flos Lonicerae Jin Yin Hua 6-20g Clears Heat, resolves Fire toxicity, vents and disperses External Wind-Heat and clears Damp-Heat from the Lower Jiao.
With Lian Qiao, for various Heat disorders.
With Lian Qiao and Huang Qin, for unremitting high fever.
With Dang Gui, reduces obstruction and toxicity for swollen, painful sores and necrosis of surrounding tissue.
Rx. Salviae Miltiorrhizae Dan Shen 3-15g Invigorates the Blood, dispels Blood Stasis, clears Heat and soothes irritability.
Rx. Paeoniae Rubra Chi Shao 4.5-15g Invigorates the Blood, dispels Blood Stasis, relieves pain, clears Heat and cools the Blood.
With Xiang Fu, for flank pain, abdominal pain, and dysmenorrhea due to Qi and Blood Stagnation.
Rx. Scutellariae Huang Qin 3-18g Clears Heat, dries Dampness, drains Fire, detoxifies, cools the Blood and calms ascending Liver Yang.
With Chai Hu, for Heat in the Shao Yang with alternating chills and fever and nausea.
Fr. Gardeniae Zhi Zi 3-12g Clears Heat, reduces Fire, eliminates irritability, cools the Blood and relieves toxicity.
Fr. Forsythiae Lian Qiao 6-30g Clears Heat (especially in the Upper Jiao), relieves toxicity and clears Blood Heat.
With Jin Yin Hua, for Initial stage Wind-Heat.
Rx. Angelicae Sinensis Dang Gui 3-15g Tonifies, invigorates and harmonizes the Blood, disperses Cold and stops pain due to Blood Stasis.
