Raw Rx. Rehmanniae Sheng Di Huang 30g Clears Heat, cools the Blood, nourishes Yin and generates fluids.
With Xuan Shen, for Excess or Deficiency Heat patterns and Kidney Yin Deficiency with Fire Blazing with soreness and swelling in the throat, dry mouth and a parched tongue.
Rx. Angelicae Sinensis Dang Gui 15g Tonifies Blood, regulates the menses, invigorates and harmonizes the Blood, disperses Cold, reduces swelling, expels pus, generates flesh and alleviates pain.
 With Dan Shen, for pain due to Blood Stasis in the extremities.
Rz. Smilacis Glabrae Tu Fu Ling 25g Relieves toxicity, eliminates Dampness and clears Damp-Heat from the skin.
 With Bai Xian Pi, for skin lesions associated with Damp-Heat.
Rx. Paeoniae Rubra Chi Shao 15g Clears Heat, cools the Blood, activates Blood, dispels Blood Stasis and reduces swelling from sores and abscesses.
Rx. Salviae Miltiorrhizae Dan Shen 20g Activates Blood, breaks up Blood Stasis, clears Heat, cools and nourishes the Blood and reduces abscesses.
Hb. Violae Zi Hua Di Ding 20g Clears Heat, relieves Fire toxicity and clears Hot sores.
Fr. Forsythiae Lian Qiao 15g Clears Heat, especially in the Upper Jiao, relieves toxicity, reduces abscesses and dissipates clumps.
Rx. Scrophulariae Xuan Shen 20g Clears Heat, cools the Blood and nourishes Yin.
Sm. Cannabis Huo Ma Ren 15g Nourishes and moistens the Intestines, nourishes the Yin, clears Heat and promotes healing of sores.
Cx. Dictamni Bai Xian Pi 20g Clears Heat, resolves Fire-toxicity, expels Wind, dries Dampness, clears Damp-Heat and stops itching.
Rz. Curcuma E Zhu 20g Invigorates Blood circulation, dispels Blood Stasis, regulates Qi, alleviates pain and dissolves accumulations.

CLINICAL MANIFESTATIONS

  • Small coin sized dark or hyper- pigmented lesions located on the scalp, body, extremities, and other areas
  • There is a thick hard, adherent covered scale. Removing the scale reveals a light pink shining membrane
  • Lichenification may occur
  • Longstanding lesions may overlap
  • Beneath the membrane are petechiae
  • Lesions may be painful or fissured
  • Chronic patients may see it in any season
  • The lesions heal without scarring
  • There may be nail involvement with stippling or pitting of the nail plate
  • Itching may be intense
  • Aversion to Heat
  • Restlessness
  • Thirst
  • Dry stools
  • Yellow, scanty urine
