POINT: PC-2 (PERICARDIUM-2)

LOCATION:

  • Located 2 cun below the level of the axilla, between the two heads of the biceps brachii muscle.
  • On the anterior aspect of the arm, 2 cun below the anterior axillary fold, between the two heads of the biceps brachii muscle.

NEEDLING:

  • Straight insertion 1 to 2 cun.
  • Oblique insertion distally or proximally along the line of the channel 1 to 1.5 cun.
  • Puncture perpendicularly 0.5 to 0.7 cun.
  • Moxibustion is applicable.

  • Pain radiating from the chest to the back
  • Heart pain
  • Heart disorders
  • Chest, back, shoulder, scapula and arm pain
  • Stone edema
  • Stifling sensation and pain of the chest
  • Aversion to Wind and Cold
  • Fullness of the chest and lateral costal region
  • High fever without sweat
  • Pneumonia

NOTES:

  • This point invigorates and distributes Qi.
  • It is used for nursing mothers who don't have enough milk because Heat is drying it up.
  • It has an infinite accumulation of warmth and spirit.
