  1. This herb may be smashed into juice to use topically.
  2. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells.
  3. This herb has traditionally been used to treat: Snake-head furuncle, hepatitis, cholecystitis, urticaria, herpes zoster, snakebite, poisonous snake bite, urolithiasis, swollen carbuncles, abscesses, sores, acute contagious conjunctivitis, eye nebulae, tonsillitis, pediatric aphthae, infantile malnutrition, night blindness, pediatric summer fever and whooping cough.
  4. This herb is used to treat tinea capitis, fetid ear and infections above the nasal region.
  5. It clears nasal obstruction, clears the senses, clears Phlegm due to pathogenic Wind, removes toxicity, improves vision and dissipates swellings.
  6. It is used to treat hemorrhoids.
  7. The juice is considered emetic and is used for fevers.
  8. Poultices are used for wounds and boils.
  9. Decoctions are used for abscesses, colds, coughs, hepatitis, influenza, Pruritis, sore throats, headaches and urinary problems.
  10. In Malaya, it is mixed with sugar and cassia bark and given to children for coughs. The leaves are pounded with alum as a poultice for scrotal skin ailments.
  11. In Nepal, the plant used as diuretic and febrifuge.
  12. In China, it is used for hepatoma, hepatitis, and as an ingredient in Chinese herbal formulas for muscular dystrophy
  13. In the Arunachal Pradesh district of India, the juice is mixed with honey and used for typhoid fever.
  14. In the district of India, fresh plants are crushed, the juice is extracted and three tablespoons are taken twice daily for five days.
  15. For nebulae, crush the herb and fill the nostrils. Replace frequently and eyesight should return in three days.
