CONTRAINDICATIONS
  • Contraindicated for those with high fever with coma.
  • Contraindicated for those with spontaneous sweat.
  • Contraindicated when there is collapse.
  • Contraindicated for those with Yin Deficiency.
  • Contraindicated for those with closed disorders due to eat.
  • Use caution during pregnancy.

  • Use with caution for patients taking anticoagulants such as heparin, warfarin (Coumadin) and enoxaparin (Lovenox) or antiplatelet drugs such as aspirin, dipyridamole (Persantine) and clopidogrel (Plavix) as concurrent use may have an additive or synergistic effect.

  1. This herb is not as strong as Secretio Moschus She Xiang.
  2. This herb is especially effective for Wind-Stroke with collapse due to Phlegm.
  3. Both Su He Xiang and Moschus She Xiang are acrid, warm, aromatic, open the Orifices and awaken the Spirit. She Xiang is stronger at opening the Orifices, awakening the Spirit and unblocking the channels and collaterals to treat Qi and Blood Stagnation with swelling and pain. Su He Xiang more strongly clears away filth and expels Phlegm to treat turbid, filthy Qi and Wind-Stroke with overabundant Phlegm causing loss of consciousness.
  4. Both Su He Xiang and Benzoinum An Xi Xiang open orifices and treat loss of consciousness An Xi Xiang is similar in strength to Su He Xiang, but is not as warm, however it invigorates Blood, and is used to treat chest and abdominal pain and postpartum coma. Su He Xiang transforms Phlegm and clears away filth for Wind-Stroke and collapse due to Phlegm.
  5. Its fragrance is so penetrating that if it is rubbed on the palm of the hand and subsequently felt on the back of the hand, it is the real thing.
  6. It can be used topically for skin irritation, cracked skin, sores and wounds.
