  1. This herb has been used to treat uterine bleeding, acute and chronic gastroenteritis, stomachache, dyspepsia, hepatitis, corneal injury, debility after illness, neurasthenia, tinnitus, headaches, bleeding wounds, spermatorrhea, snake bites.
  2. The fruit Tao Jin Niang has been used to treat anemia during pregnancy, low back pain and rheumatic arthritis.
  3. The leaves are applied topically for skin infections, impetigo, furuncles and abscesses. Make a paste  and apply it to the lesion. 
  4. A decoction of the leaves is considered to be antiseptic and is used to wash the skin and clean wounds.
