Clinical Manifestations
  • An autoimmune disease that damages the villi of the Small Intestine and interferes with the absorption of food with an
    intolerance of gluten in wheat, barley, rye and oats. It is a genetic that tends to affect people of European descent.
  • It may be triggered by surgery, pregnancy, childbirth, infection or severe stress.
  • Symptoms include:
    Diarrhea
    Weight loss
    Recurring abdominal distention and pain
    Pale, foul-smelling stools
    Unexplained anemia
    Flatulence
    Joint and bone pain
    Muscle cramps
    Behavioral changes
    Fatigue
    Possible seizures
