  • Posterior and inferior to the medial malleolus, in the depressionanterior to the medial side of the attachment of the achilles tendon.
  • 0.5 cun below and slightly posterior to KI-3 Taixi, between the medial margin of the calcaneus tendon and the calcaneus bone.
  • 0.5 cun directly inferior to KI-3 Taixi, on the medial bordewr of the tendocalcaneus.
  • Approximately 0.5 cun posterior to the midpoint of the line drawn between KI-3 Taixi and KI-5 Shuiquan on the anterior border of the Achilles tendon.
    Note: first locate KI-5 Shuiquan, 1 cun directly inferior to KI-3 Taixi, then locate KI-4 Dazhong halfway between and 0.5 cun posterior between these two points.
  • Puncture perpendicularly, 0.3 to 0.5 cun.
  • Moxibustion is applicable.
  • Slanted insertion, 0.3 to 0.5 cun.
