- At the back of the head on the midline, 1.5 cun directly superior to DU-18 Qiangjian and 1.5 cun posterior to DU-20 Baihui.
- 5.5 cun directly above the midpoint of the posterior hairline, 1.5 cun directly above DU-18 Qiangjian.
- 1.5 cun behind DU-20 Baihui, near the vertex.
- Transverse insertion 0.5 to 1 cun.
- Puncture subcutaneously 0.3 to 0.5 cun.
- Moxibustion is applicable.
- Slanted insertion 0.5 to 1 cun.
