  1. This herb has recently been used for raising blood pressure.
  2. This herb is stronger in its action than Per. Citri Reticulatae Chen Pi.
  3. It is often used as an alternative to Zhi Shi and Zhi Ke in Bupleurum Chai Hu formulas, especially when treating pain and tumors. It aids Chai Hu in dredging the Liver and dispersing entangled Qi.
  4. It is useful in treating chronic bronchitis where there is stagnant Qi in the chest.
  5. Qing Pi has scattering and unblocking properties that are relatively harsh; it is primarily used for breaking up Qi Stagnation. Its actions are primarily horizontal and it is therefore used more for pain. Chen Pi has a more harmonious nature than Per. Citri Reticulatae Viride Qing Pi and tends to enter the Qi level of the Spleen and Lungs. its actions are more vertical and is therefore used for coughing and vomiting.
  6. It is good for stagnant Qi in the upper back and chest.
  7. It is said to treat allergies in moderate doses.
  8. Dry-fried Unripe Tangerine Peel Chao Qing Pi has enhanced ability to harmonize the Stomach , for treating distention and pain in the chest and flanks, poor appetite and abdominal fullness due to Liver and Stomach Disharmony.
  9. Vinegar-fried Unripe Tangerine Peel Cu Chao Qing Pi has its actions directed specifically in the Liver channel. Its ability to dredge and break up Liver Qi is enhanced.
  10. Wine-fried Unripe Tangerine Peel Jiu Chao Qing Pi has enhanced dispersing qualities to promote the flow of Qi and Blood, as in abdominal masses.
  11. Charred Unripe Tangerine Peel Qing Pi Tan has a weakened ability to break up Qi, but it still reduces Food Stagnation, transforms obstruction and harmonizes the Stomach for treatment of Food Stagnation with epigastric distention and belching.
