  1. Soak in wine, or stir-bake it into charcoal and pound into a powder.
  2. The ash of the bone generates muscles.
  3. The ash is applied to all weeping sores to promote granulation and to swollen breast abscesses.
  4. The ash is given as a tonic, for infantile convulsions and cholera.
  5. Roasted and taken with rice, Gou Gu is taken with rice to increase fertility in women.
  6. It is applied with lard for nasal polyps.
