- The leaf and young tender twigs are used.
- It also relieves the swelling from hemorrhoids, Wind headaches, unilateral headaches, weak and aching pain in the feet preventing walking and contracture of the arms so that they cannot be stretched or lifted.
- Some sources say that this herb Heart Qi Stagnation and Heart Yin Deficiency with a throbbing headache, dizziness, unrest, insomnia and irritability.
- Both Chou Wu Tong and Hb. Siegesbeckiae Xi Xian Cao treat Wind-Damp Bi and itchy rashes due to Wind or Dampness. Xi Xian Cao is best for dispelling Wind-Dampness within the sinews and bones and treats Wind-Stroke leading to paralysis and is especially effective for numbness of the limbs. Chou Wu Tong calms Liver Yang to treat dizziness and can be used alone for this.
