Separates the pure from the turbid (resolves turbid Dampness in the Lower Jiao)

CONTRAINDICATIONS
  • Contraindicated for Yin Deficiency with Blazing Fire.

  5. This herb is most appropriate when Dampness predominates over Heat.
  6. Powdery Dioscorea Fen Bei Xie is considered superior for facilitating urination, expelling Dampness and separating the pure from the turbid.
  7. This is one of the few Chinese Herbs that is specific for chyluria and albuminuria.
  8. Sichuan Dioscorea Chuan Bei Xie is better at expelling Wind-Dampness and unblocking the channels.
  9. Dry-fried Dioscorea Chao Bei Xie is better at entering the Stomach and transforming Dampness.
  10. Wine-fried Dioscorea Jiu Chao Bei Xie is better at expelling Wind-Dampness.
  11. Salt-fried Dioscorea Yan Chao Bei Xie is better at facilitating urination
  12. Bei Xie and Rz. Smilacis Glabrae Tu Fu Ling both dispel Dampness and are used for milky Lin, toxic Damp-Heat sores and Wind-Damp sores. Bei Xie is better at separating the pure from the turbid (treating milky Lin and vaginal discharge) while Tu Fu Ling is better for resolving toxicity (treating toxic sores). It is well known for its ability to treat syphilitic lesions. It also eliminates mercury from the body.
