Flos Magnoliae Xin Yi 2-6g Expels Wind-Cold and unblocks the nasal passages.
With Zhi Zi, Sheng Ma, Huang Qin and Shi Gao, for sinusitis or rhinitis with Lung Heat.
Fol. Eriobotryae Pi Pa Ye 2-6g Transforms Phlegm, clears Lung Heat and descends Lung Qi.
Fr. Gardeniae Zhi Zi 3-9g Clears Heat, reduces Fire, eliminates irritability and resolves Dampness.
Rz. Anemarrhenae Zhi Mu 3-9g Clears Heat and drains Fire (clears Heat from the Qi Stage, from the Lung and from the Stomach), nourishes Yin, moistens Dryness, generates fluids, clears Deficiency Fire, generates Fluids and quenches thirst.
With Gan Cao, regulates Cold and Heat and harmonizes the Exterior and Interior.
With Shi Gao, cools Heat in the Yang Ming or Qi Level while protecting Stomach fluids to treat high fever, profuse sweating, insatiable thirst, a red face, aversion to Heat and a large, strong pulse.
With Huang Qin, for cough with Excess Lung Heat.
Bul. Lilii Bai He 3-9g Nourishes the Yin, moistens the Lungs, clears Heat, stops cough, clears the Heart and calms the Shen.
With Zhi Mu, for irritability and mental disorientation due to Yin Deficiency or lingering Heat in the late stages of febrile disease.
Rx. Scutellariae Huang Qin 3-9g Clears Heat, dries Dampness, drains Fire, detoxifies and Calms ascending Liver Yang.
With Zhi Zi, powerfully clears and drains lurking Heat from the Lungs with fever, fullness in the chest, cough with yellow sputum and epistaxis or hematemesis.
Rx. Cimicifugae Sheng Ma 1-3g Releases the exterior, vents measles, clears Heat and relieves toxicity.
With Shi Gao, clears Heat Excess and Fire toxin from the Yang Ming channel with toothache, swollen and bleeding gums or jaw, vertex headache or redness and swelling along the lower eyelid.
Rx. Ophiopogonis Mai Men Dong 3-15g Moistens the Lungs, nourishes the Yin and stops cough.
Gypsum Fibrosum Shi Gao 3-30g Clears Heat in the Qi Stage, drains Fire, relieves irritability, clears Excess Heat from the Lungs and quenches thirst.
Rx. Glycyrrhizae Gan Cao 1.5g Moistens the Lungs, resolves Phlegm, clears Heat, stops and cough moderates and harmonizes the harsh properties of other herbs.
