Cornu Saigae Tataricae Ling Yang Jiao 1-4.5g Pacifies the Liver, extinguishes Wind, clears Heat and toxins, anchors Yang, and stops spasms and convulsions.
With Gou Teng, Sheng Di Huang and Ju Hua, for convulsions and opisthotonis associated with Liver Wind generated by Warm Febrile Disease.
With Gou Teng, Sheng Di Huang, Ju Hua and Bai Shao, for dizziness and vertigo.
(Cornu Naemorhedis) (Shan Yang Jiao) (10-45g) (Pacifies the Liver, and treats Liver Fire or Liver Yang Rising. It may substitute for Ling Yang Jiao.)
(Concha Margaritaferae) (Zhen Zhu Mu) (10-45g) (Calms the Liver, anchors the Yang and drains Liver Fire. It may substitute for Ling Yang Jiao.)
Ram. Uncariae Gou Teng 9-12g Balances the liver and Pericardium, calms Wind and extinguishes Fire.
Fol. Mori Sang Ye 6-9g Clears the Liver and eyes.
With Ju Hua, clears Heat and dispels Wind from the Lungs and Liver and strengthens the formula’s Wind-extinguishing functions.
With Ju Hua, Ling Yang Jiao and Gou Teng, for cramps and spasms due to Liver Wind.
Flos Chrysanthemi Ju Hua 9-12g Calms the Liver and extinguishes Wind.
With Gou Teng, Sheng Di Huang and Bai Shao, for headaches due to Liver Wind with Yin Deficiency Fire.
Rx. Paeoniae Alba Bai Shao 6-9g Calms Liver Yang and astringes Yin.
With Sheng Di Huang, nourishes Yin and generates Fluids to soften the Liver and relax sinews.
With Gou Teng and Ju Hua, for headache and dizziness due to Liver Yang Rising.
With Gan Cao, for abdominal pain due to disharmony between the Liver and Stomach and epigastric, hypochondriac or flank pain.
Rx. Rehmanniae Sheng Di Huang 9-15g Clears Heat, cools the Blood, nourishes the Yin and Blood, cools Heart Fire and increases Fluids.
With Bai Shao, for Blood Deficiency Heat.
Bul. Fritillariae Cirrhosae Chuan Bei Mu 9-12g Clears Heat and transforms Phlegm.
With Zhu Ru, clears Heat and transforms Phlegm.
Scl. Poriae Pararadicis Fu Shen 9-12g Transforms Phlegm, pacifies the Heart, calms the Shen and treats irritability and restlessness caused by Heat attacking the Shen.
Caul. Bambusae In Taeniam Zhu Ru 6-15g Clears Heat and transforms Hot Phlegm.
Rx. Glycyrrhizae Gan Cao 1-3g Resolves Phlegm, clears Heat, detoxifies and harmonizes.
With Bai Shao, strengthens Yin, relaxes sinews and moderates painful spasms.
